Erwin Freundlich was engaged in the construction of the Einstein tower, the Einsteinturm

Erwin Finlay-Freundlich (1885-1964) was engaged as designer in the construction  of the solar observatory, the Einsteinturm ( Einstein Tower ), built in Potsdam between 1919-1922,  and he later became the director and professor of astrophysics of the Einstein-Institut which includes the Einsteinturm. After surviving WWII as a Jew, Freundlich returned to his native town Wiesbaden and was appointed professor at the University of Mainz. Freundlich died in Wiesbaden, Germany.
