The difference between a stationary clock and an identical moving clock is in the rate of progression of either clock: 1). the hands of a stationary clock move faster; 2). the hands of a moving clock move slower. This difference is called 'time dilationwhose mathematical description comes from the FitzGerald-Lorentz ( or simply Lorentz ) solution or set of equations arrived at between 1889-1892 as an answer to the 1887 Michelson-Morley speed of light experiment and subsequently taken up, used by Albert Einstein in his famously renowned 1905 Special Relativity paper: "On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies".
